What a tremendous injustice has Diane and her family been dealt. It is such a tremendous frustration to know that so much evidence has been found to vindicate her, and yet our lackadaisical Judges and system refuse to bring this to a jury and into the light. My studies in Law and my faith in our system has faltered because of cases such as this. I do not feel that our founding fathers ever, meant for Justice to be ruled by single men and women, but rather a Jury of our piers. Piers that receive honest and true FACTS. In this case we have certainly failed. Diane, God Bless you, and your children. I wish I could help you more.Brad Woodbury
Free Diane Fleming! Her case sickens me that the State of Virginia is so ruthless & wont free her when theres evidence that she didnt murder her husband! It was a freak accident! That just goes to show that never trust in man, but in God! My prayers are with Diane & her family!
Just watched Diane`s interview on report "sweet misery" here in U.K . appalled and shocked that a modern scientifically informed society as the USA could allow this beautiful, dignified and undoubtly innocent woman be incarceratd for 50 years for an unproveable and defective allegation ,a prosecution driven on the motive of fear and blindness to the truth that we all need to face eventually. God bless her ,God help Virginia , and God help us all
Am trying to sign petition to free Fleming. Petition is closed. What is the status?
It amazes me that Ms. Fleming could have been found guilty in the face of such circumstantial evidence. How on earth did a jury come to this conclusion? And why have her appeals not been heard? This case is a disgraceful reflection on "justice" in the State of Virginia.
I want to write to Diane, does anyone know how I can? I really feel an injustice has been done. If anyone how's I can write to her pls email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Diane's address:Diane Fleming #1127555FCCW 8D 212BP.O. Box 1000Troy, VA. 22974-1000
I am a pharmaceutical professional. I have been working with a lawyer volunteering time for Diane, to make an appeal for a pardon directly to the Governor of Virginia. We plan to submit it by Oct 2011, asking for a release by Christmas. When we give the signal, we need everyone to call the Governor's office to make sure he pays attention! Are you in?
What has happened to Diane is an embarrassment to the legal profession and the justice system. I feel sick to my stomach that something like this could happen in the United States of America. I believe we live in the greatest country in the world; one in which our forefathers invested so much with the intention to protect us all from injustices such as the one inflicted on Diane and her family in this case. I am SHOCKED that this poor woman is still in prison. Learning of this case has dealt a serious blow to the confidence I have in our great profession. I sit here this evening one baffled and frightened attorney.
Hi I'm from England but watched a documentary regarding Diane is there anything I can do to help please let me know. I too feel Diane is innocent is indeed now a victim herself and I feel sorry for her poor kids first losing their dad and now their mum this is truly awfulPlease contact me email@example.com
When will these injustices ever end?We are praying for your release and having the conviction overturned.GBpat
I just watched a doc on Diane in the UK and can not believe this is still going on. The evidence is there yet the courts choose to do nothing about it. I hope the law sees sense and allows Diane out so she can be with the paople that really care about her. Good luck
I just watched Diane's story on TV, I find it unbelievable that such an injustice like this can happen. Of course the Judges aren't going to admit that the justice system made a mistake, surely it should be looked at by judges in another state so their ruling can be impartial. I hope someone soon is brave enough to stand up and say, 'this is not right'. God bless you and your family Diane, and God bless your friends, they are wonderful.
I just saw the documentary. I am a doctor and am familiar with the multiple health problems caused by aspartame. I am planning to write to her and find out the status of her case, and see if we all can do anything.
I am a doctor as well. My background is in chemestry. This is not only bad justice but it is a horrible miscarriage of justice. Please free Diane.
Please free Diane..she deserves to be with her family. There is clearly not enough evidence linking her to his death. Please review this case and give this lady a chance to live her life.
I just watched this story on snapped. First off she did not snap the prosecutor did and this is obvious because he did not share the fact with the defense that there was no color die in the gatorade. Disgusting how they do not care if someone is guilty or not. I cannot believe she is still in prison. What an appalling justice system that will not admit it was wrong. The jury was obviously ignorant, how could they find her guilty in the first place there was not any definitive evidence. Shame on them for being sheep. It is obvious he slowly killed himself without knowing it because he believed if the FDA said it is ok then it is. WRONG. Aspartame was never intended to be used for normal consumption but money rules and this dangerous substance is still on the market. I live in the Netherlands and we are trying to ban it but the american money machine is strong. I hope Diane and her friends take the manufacturers to court for cause of death for her husband. Hope the press will take a stand and protect people with the truth. Mostly I hope Diane is freed. Everyone in the world knows how crappy the american justice system is and more and more we see how shamefuly they cannot admit their faults, instead they leave an obviously caring mother in prison to save their ego's. makes me sick! Diane I don't know what to say. I admire your strength. Love Lee from the Hague
I agree with July 15, 2012 comment (Lee from Hague). I too have just watched the "Snapped" program and I can't believe that she is still in jail given the evidence available. The justice system obviously is flawed but nothing is perfect the true sense of humanity is to admit an error has been made and rectify it. I am going to see if I can write to Diane for support. The jury's hasty decision was based on just agreeing as fast as they could and getting on with their own lives and could careless about the life of this women. Diane if you get to read any of this I think you are an incredibly strong woman. The fact you are helping other inmates only reinforces what a wonderful person you are. Shame on Virginia justice system for being so inhumane.
I have just watched Diane's story on Snapped. I kept thinking that before the end of the programme, I would see that justice had prevailed and that she has been acquitted. What an appalling thing to happen and in what we think of as a civilized country.
I am posting to say that Diane Fleming was wrongfully accused. Something horrible went wrong here, and there are a lot of people who should be blamed. Particularly, I believe the judge in the trial should be jailed himself - he instructed the jurors and they clearly did not understand what there job was. There is no possible way that a group of people would have truthfully found her guilty unless they didn't understand their task. Or the jury was not truthful. Regardless, there is a whole series of people who are responsible for locking up an innocent woman. And they are probably walking around freely and that is as disgusting as the fact that Diane is in jail. It is our responsibility as free citizens to fight for Diane's freedom because this sort of injustice can happen, it has happened, and it could happen again to any one of us.
Virginia is one of those states that has a terribly draconic/punitive judicial system. Very unforgiving and horribly unconcerned with truth. The facts and statistics prove it. In addition to this, her attorney was a total empty suit and provided very little if any defense. That is what happens in the U.S. Total hypocrisy.
I hope she is free by now. If not I just want to say what a horrible thing to happen in the USA and to a good christian woman. My heart breaks, she is clearly innocent. It seems there is injustice in the courts all over this country.I have been unjustly accused also and my children were given to their abusive father. I do believe that God will come through some of us are suffering persecution in these days and it comes disguised as this, I will be praying for Diane and believe God will let the truth win!
Those perpetrating this injustice are securing thier own damnation before a holy and just God.The many lives destroyed by Searles nutrisweet products will require just recompence in the day of righteous judgement.Ben - Australia
